Paul O'Grady Hits Out At Registrar

Channel 4 chat show host Paul O'Grady has accused the BBC of inciting hatred by letting a Christian registrar speak out against same-sex civil partnerships.

Lillian Ladele, 47, won her claim for discrimination after being threatened with dismissal for refusing to carry out "gay marriages" in Islington, London. She featured on Jeremy Vine's Radio 2 show yesterday arguing that same-sex marriage was "sinful".

O'Grady said: "It was like the Nuremberg rally. Talk about inciting hatred. She shouldn't be in the job. When you employ a plumber, you don't expect him to say, 'Sorry, I don't do toilets, I only do taps'."

Richard Quest Back At CNN

CNN reporter Richard Quest has returned to the cable news channel after a break following his drug arrest and court-ordered counselling, a spokesman for the Atlanta-based network said.

Quest returned to CNN International in late June and has been producing general news segments and working on the August edition of CNN Business Traveler, the show he hosted before his arrest, said Nigel Pritchard, a spokesman for CNN.

"We're very pleased to have him back," Pritchard said.

Police stopped Quest, 46, in April for being in New York's Central Park after curfew, and they discovered a bag of methamphetamines on the British reporter.

A judge ordered him to undergo six months of counselling in exchange for having the case dismissed.
