Olympic Viewers
The opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics attracted an
average audience of five million viewers to BBC One, according to unofficial
overnight figures.
More than 50 per cent of those watching TV on Friday afternoon tuned in to
see the opening - with a peak audience of 5.4m at 17:00.
But due to China's time difference, TV audiences were down from the 8.68m
who watched the Athens ceremony in 2004.
Globally, there was an estimated TV audience of one billion people for the
four-and-a-half-hour spectacular.

Who Is The Chef?
A
new food-based gameshow, developed in Holland, could soon reach UK screens.
Similar to Channel 4's Come Dine With Me, four strangers host
a dinner party in their own homes that is attended by all the other
contestants. One of them though, is a professional chef while the others are
amateur.
Each chef must cook their best meal to convince the others
they are the real chef.
After the dinner parties the four contestants meet at the
restaurant where the professional works to make their final decision as to
who they think is the pro. The winner gets a prize.
The professional will also name who he or she thinks was the
best amateur and they get the chance to work for a day in the kitchen with
the professional.
