Jonathan
Ross With Stevie Wonder
This week Stevie Wonder is the guest on Friday Night With
Jonathan Ross on BBC One.
In a rare TV interview Stevie Wonder expresses his support for US
presidential candidate Barack Obama.
"I'm saying what we need is change in America, we must become a united
people. America needs Barack Obama, it's that simple," he told Ross.
"When people talk about colour it makes me laugh. I see a spirit in his
heart. I believe him and trust that his heart is seeing truth and that's why
I'll be voting for him, no question. We have to grow up as a world. You have
to understand that you can't have change if you have fear."
Stevie Wonder also talks about never being able to see: "Some doctors are
working on a chip that enables a blind person to see. For me, I'm not
eligible but there are thousands of people who are [eligible] and I want to
make sure they get the chance."

BBC To
Seek Budding Prime Ministers
The BBC is to start a nationwide search to find Britain's
potential Prime Ministers of the future in a new series for CBBC, called
Election.
Ten children from across the UK will undergo a series of leadership tests
and tasks and the series will culminate in a face-off between the two
finalists at the House of Commons.
CBBC presenter Angellica Bell will host the series, with political presenter
Jonathan Dimbleby as head judge.
Over the course of 10 programmes, the participants, aged between 11 and 14,
will be eliminated one by one until there is a winner.
Executive producer Matt Paice said: "Britain's young people don't get much
good press. In this series, 10 of the brightest and best are given the
chance to prove they are worthy leaders.
"This next generation of political hotshots shows the rest of us their
passion for changing Britain for the better."
Every episode, the group will be set a series of character-revealing
exercises.
The challenges will explore the skills needed to perform like a great modern
politician including public speaking, recruiting people to their cause,
diplomacy, debating, media skills and campaigning.
They will be set by guest mentors including Apprentice winner Michelle
Dewberry, ex-London mayor Ken Livingstone, Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe
and Vince Cable, the Liberal Democrats' deputy leader.
Their efforts will then be judged by a group of experts before one person is
eliminated by Dimbleby.
CBBC controller Anne Gilchrist said: "We hope that Election will help engage
young people with politics.
"Not in a party political sense but by helping them see for themselves what
it takes to be a great leader and how it is possible to change and influence
the world around them."

The Restaurant
On Thursday, October 2 in BBC Two's The Restaurant, just half
of the six couples remain to face an unusual challenge.
Tim and Lindsie, Peter and Laura, and Chris and Caroline
battle it out for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to open a new restaurant
with Raymond Blanc continues. Having failed to make their international
cuisine work, one couple's dream of going into business with Raymond comes
to an end.
In the programme's challenge,
they must prepare and serve their own food which must be transformed
into a First Class lunch aboard a waiting Boeing 747.
Raymond Blanc is using this
challenge to test each couple's restaurant concept and also how
their service skills fare in one of the toughest fine-dining
environments.
First, the chefs have to cook,
portion and chill their dishes. Then the meals must be delivered to
the aircraft. Here, the front-of-house take over, warming and
serving the meals to a First Class cabin full of discerning
passengers ... and some very special guests.

Cleopatra Documentary
Cleopatra is to be the focus of a new historical
documentary for BBC One this winter.
Based on new forensic evidence, the new one-off 60-minute special reveals a
darker and more ruthless side to the Queen of Egypt, traditionally
mythologised for her beauty, her love affairs with Julius Caesar and Mark
Antony, and, finally, her suicide.
It is based on the discovery of a tomb containing human remains.
Archaeologists are convinced that this is the skeleton of one of Cleopatra's
victims, murdered by her Roman lover, Mark Antony, on her orders.
Based on exclusive access to the archaeologists and the skeleton, Cleopatra:
Portrait Of A Killer is a tale of rivalry, lust, incest, murder and power
that destroyed an empire.
Mark Bell, BBC Commissioning Editor, Specialist Factual,
said: "Cleopatra – arguably the most famous woman in history – has been the
subject of endless fiction and much speculation.
"This film, based on riveting new archeological evidence, gives a fresh
perspective on the world's original femme fatale.
"It may be ancient history, but it still makes a sensational story today,
and I'm delighted to be bringing it to BBC One."
