Karl Malden Dead
Oscar-winning actor Karl Malden has died aged 97.
Malden's family informed the Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences of
his death.
The actor had served as the academy's president from 1989 to 92.
Malden appeared in many films including On The Waterfront and A Streetcar
Named Desire.
In the 1970s, Malden made a transition to television, starring in the
popular series The Streets Of San Francisco, which introduced Michael
Douglas. Douglas credited Malden as his mentor ever since.
Malden once said: "I'm a workaholic, I love every movie I've been in, even
the bad ones, every TV series, every play, because I love to work. It's what
keeps me going."

Actress Mollie
Sugden Dies
Actress Mollie Sugden has died at the age of 86, her agent
has said.
She died at the Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford, after a long illness.
Sugden was best known for playing Mrs Slocombe in long-running BBC sitcom
Are You Being Served?, a role later reprised for Grace and Favour.
The actress also appeared in The Liver Birds.
Her twin sons, Robin and Simon Moore, were at her bedside,
according to her agent Joan Reddin.
Ms Reddin began representing Sugden in the 1960s before she became famous
with her role as Mrs Slocombe in Are You Being Served?.
She said: "She had had a long illness and various problems but it was very
quick in the end. Her twin boys were with her and she faded away. She was a
lovely, lovely person."
Sugden, who lived in Surrey, was married to fellow actor William Moore.
She never fully recovered from his death nine years ago, said Ms Reddin.
"They were very much in love," she said. "She started to go down when he
died."
Best known for her comedy roles often playing battleaxes, Sugden also
appeared as the fearsome Mrs Hutchinson in The Liver Birds, but her career
spanned a variety of roles.
Born in Keighley, West Yorkshire, in July 1922, Sugden trained at the
Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Her early career was spent in
repertory theatre, where in Swansea in 1956, she met Moore.
They married two years later, when she was 35 and he was 39. Their sons were
born six years later.

Skippy Actor Loses
Claim
Tony Bonner, one of the stars of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo,
has lost a court battle over profits from the Australian TV show.
Bonner, who played helicopter pilot Jerry King in the 1960s show, had been
seeking a pay-out of 750,000 Australian dollars - around £367,900).
But a judge in Sydney dismissed the case, saying Bonner had no rights to
money from DVD and merchandise sales.
Skippy followed the exploits of a brave kangaroo, her young owner and the
rangers of the Waratah National Park.
The children's show aired in Australia from 1965 to 1968 and was shown in
more than 100 countries.
Bonner decided to sue Fauna Productions last year, claiming he had missed
out on a reasonable share of the profits.
"When I signed the agreement with them for production in 1967, VHS was not
even heard of, let alone DVDs or the internet," he said at the time.
However, Supreme Court judge said the actor, now 65, had been paid for his
services with the weekly salary he earned in 1968.
"Under the agreement, Bonner assigned to Fauna the sole and absolute rights
throughout the world to all results and proceeds of the services rendered by
him," the judge said.

"But you know what? They're wrong! Kids are funny, magical and always
