Ugly Betty Axed
ABC announced today that Ugly Betty has been axed.
“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s
final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time
to write a satisfying conclusion,” executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC
president Steve McPherson said in a joint statement.
“We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and
felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”
The show, which stars Emmy-winner America Ferrera as the style-challenged
fashion magazine staffer, is in its fourth season.
Based on the popular Colombian soap Betty la Fea, which has inspired dozens
of versions of the show around the world, the ABC hour-long comedy debuted
in September of 2006.

Steve
Jones Hosts New BBC Show Steve Jones is
to host a new game show which will see contestants being flung from
a tower with cannons, rockets, catapults or bungees.
Jones will front the Saturday evening programme, 101 Ways to Leave A
Gameshow, which will be shown on BBC One and has been made by Big
Brother producers Endemol.
Each week, eight contestants will put their general knowledge to the
test in a bid to win the £10,000 prize, but wrong answers mean being
flung into freezing water or glutinous mud.
The action will take place in a studio in a monolithic tower, a
purpose-built venue rising 100ft into the sky.
With one side of the studio exposed to the elements, the contestants
are only ever a few feet away from being flung from the tower by
some 'devilish device'.
The producers said: "One minute they're in the relative calm of a
sophisticated quiz show set, the next they're hanging upside down on
a zipline in a high wind about to be fired off the tower and off the
show for good."

Big Brother
Mystery Guest
Celebrity Big Brother housemates will be joined by a mystery
guest tonight.
Channel 4’s Emma Willis confirmed the news, with speculation rising that
glamour model Katie Price could be reunited with her cage fighter lover,
Alex Reid, on the show.
Other names in the frame are Boy George, Pamela Anderson, MC Hammer after
Willis dropped several not so subtle hints as to who the mystery guest might
be.
“I can reveal another celebrity will be entering the Big Brother house,. But
will they come-a-chameleon and then leave, will it be a priceless gift for
Alex if he gets to stay?" she said, in a clear reference to Boy George or
Katie Price.
Former Culture Club singer Boy George was originally slated to appear in the
show but was denied the chance after losing a High Court battle to defy the
probation services blocking him taking up a lucrative offer to appear on the
programme.
The singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, was jailed for 15 months in
January for handcuffing a Norwegian man to a wall in his east London home.
The 48-year-old was released on licence in May, and was initially given
strict curfew conditions including wearing an electronic tag, though he no
longer does so. An insider on the show said a loophole meant Boy George
could enter the house for a few hours.
However Willis then muddied the waters further by adding:” We will be on bay
watch all evening to let you know what's going on. So hammer home those
messages to us." The comments suggested that busty Playboy Playmate and
former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson or rapper MC Hammer could be the
mystery guest.
Both stars were rumoured to be possible guests before the line for this
year’s show was officially unveiled
