Susan Boyle's Brother Concerned

Susan Boyle’s brother says not enough is being done to protect the star- and admits he is worried she could be killed if security isn’t stepped up.

John Boyle spoke out after the Britain’s Got Talent star confronted an intruder in her council house in Blackburn, West Lothian on Tuesday night.

The 48 year-old spinster’s shock encounter happened after she had flown back to Scotland from London where she had been recording vocals for Simon Cowell’s all -star Haiti earthquake charity single, Everybody Hurts.

John, 59 also blasted record bosses who he claimed were too busy counting cash to worry about his sister’s security.

The prowler incident is the second scare surrounding Susan Boyle after police were called following an attempted break in at her home in December.

John told a newspaper: "I am very upset about the lack of security. Her management company are too busy counting the money Susan has made them to consider her safety.

"The family have told them several times that vast improvements need to be made to avoid something like this happening. This is the second time something has happened to Susan at her home and it is extremely worrying.

"Susan is a massive world star and needs better protection. You look at what happened to John Lennon in New York - it's really worrying."

New ITV Chief Executive

ITV today announced the appointment of Adam Crozier as Chief Executive.

Crozier, who is currently Chief Executive of Royal Mail Group, will take up his role later this year.

Archie Norman, Chairman of ITV Plc, said: “I am thrilled that Adam is joining us as Chief Executive. ITV is a strong brand with talented people, facing an imperative for change as the media landscape evolves. Adam is a very strong leader with a great track record in delivering transformational change. He has worked successfully in talent-driven organisations, with government and regulators, and has a thorough understanding of the media, advertising and branding industries.

“His task is to bring together the skills and talent within ITV to drive the business on its strategic journey. Adam was the unanimous choice of the Non-Executive Directors of ITV after a very full and thorough search process."

Adam Crozier said: “I am very excited to be joining ITV - a company with a great heritage and one of the best brands in the UK. The entire media sector is going through enormous change and that presents both great opportunities and significant challenges for everyone in the industry. The objective for ITV is to rise to those challenges and put itself at the forefront of change. I am very much looking forward to working with the people at ITV and leading the transformation ahead."

Prior to joining the Royal Mail, Mr Crozier had been the boss of the Football Association.

Mr Crozier returned the Royal Mail to profitability, but the postal service has also been hit by strike action.

ITV said he was due to take up the chief executive position "later this year".
