Celebrity Big Brother Winner

Cage fighter Alex Reid was tonight crowned Celebrity Big Brother champion.

When host Davina McCall announced Reid had won the 34-year-old looked shocked and embraced runner up Dane Bowers.

Reid charmed the public and won the last ever Celebrity Big Brother beating singer Bowers into second place.

Football hardman turned Hollywood actor Vinnie Jones, 45, came third and said of winner Reid: “I taught him everything I know.”

Reid’s girlfriend Katie Price was thought to be at the studio to greet him.

Reid emerged grinning from the house wearing a jacket and jeans and punched the air while descending the stairs to the 'Rocky' theme tune.

He waved to the crowd and appeared overwhelmed by his win, repeatedly saying: “Wow”.

Jeremy Clarkson's Big Earner

Jeremy Clarkson

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson earned more than £800,000 in the year to the end of March 2009 from the company set up to channel profits from the global exploitation of the Top Gear brand.

Accounts for Bedder 6 showed an after-tax profit of £2.1m on a turnover of £24m.

Clarkson, who reportedly earns around £1m for presenting Top Gear, owns 30 per cent of Bedder 6 and as a result will have collected £479,000 from his share of the company's £1.59m dividend. He also received a £350,000 fee for "payment for services".

This was more than twice his earnings from Bedder 6 during its previous accounting period, when he received £317,000 over the 17 months to the end of March 2008.

Bedder 6 has nearly tripled its turnover from £8.675m during the previous 17 months, when after-tax profit was £1.876m.

Andy Wilman, the Top Gear executive producer, is a Bedder 6 director along with Clarkson and will also have taken a share of the dividend.

The corporation's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, owns just over 50 per cent of the company, which was created by Clarkson and Wilman in 2006.

Bedder 6 is used as the main channel for the profits for Top Gear merchandising and some of the other commercial exploitation of the hit BBC2 motoring show, including foreign sales of the original UK production.

Victoria Beckham US Chat Show

Victoria Beckham has landed a presenting job on one of the most high profile US chat shows, it was announced today.

The former Spice Girl will have a guest presenting slot on top daytime show The View.

She will join actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd, and broadcaster Barbara Walters as a guest co-host on the ABC show, a live programme similar to Loose Women.

Beckham appeared on The View as a guest in September last year, when the hosts complimented her on her shoes, her clothing line and her footballer husband David.

A spokesman for Beckham said the fashion designer was excited about returning to the show as a host.

“She had a lot of fun last time she was on the show, it’s a real ’girlie’ environment, the hosts are all strong, intelligent women who she respects and admires, and she is looking forward to
returning to the show in a few weeks,” the spokesman said.

Singer Joins Emmerdale Cast

Former Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw is joining the cast of ITV's Emmerdale, it has been announced.

She mirrors the move of former bandmate Kym Marsh, who was signed to rival soap Coronation Street as barmaid Michelle Connor four years ago.

Shaw, 28, will play feisty and flirty Eve Birch, the granddaughter of battleaxe Edna (Shirley Stelfox), who will ruffle some feathers in the village as she unleashes her charm on the men of Emmerdale.

Shaw said: "I am so excited to be joining the cast of such a popular and long-standing show - it's quite daunting to think I'll be watched by millions of people every night but I can't wait to get stuck in to country life.

"Eve is going to be such a fun character to play, she's a real flirt and her arrival is definitely going to cause fireworks."

Pete Waterman is to write and produce this year's UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The music mogul, who has produced more than 200 hit songs over the past 25 years, said he was "relishing the opportunity" to pen the track.

"Pete Waterman has an incredible track record of hits that are known all around Europe so we're thrilled that he has taken on Eurovision."

A don't think a bunch of 'English' clubs and pubs in Spain really qualify as "All around Europe"! I seem to recall very few of Waterpump's discs making it big anywhere but here.
