Piers Morgan To Interview
Prime Minister
Britain's Got Talent judge and former newspaper editor Piers
Morgan will interview Prime Minister Gordon Brown on his TV chat show, ITV
has announced.
"He's one of the most famous people in the country yet remains a man of
mystery to many," Morgan said.
The hour-long interview, which will be broadcast on February 14, will
precede a new six-part series of Morgan's Life Stories, which starts in
March.
Morgan said Mr Brown was "an absolutely perfect subject" for the show.
"I have known Gordon Brown for over 15 years - he is a man who has enjoyed
great triumph, suffered terrible tragedy, and will soon face the biggest
challenge of his career," Morgan said.

BBC
Entertainment Chief Quits
BBC entertainment production head Jon Beazley, who has
overseen shows such as I’d Do Anything and Any Dream Will, is to leave the
Corporation.
Beazley, who currently holds the title of controller of entertainment group
for BBC Vision, will leave next month.
He said he was planning to “take a break” and “consider some options” that
have become available to him.
“After many hugely enjoyable years I have decided that it’s the right time
to leave the BBC, take a break and consider some options available to me
before deciding what’s next. I have had the privilege of working with some
of the very best talent – both on and off screen – and have been involved in
some of the most successful entertainment shows of recent years,” he said.
The controller added he was leaving the department “in rude health” and with
“a strong roster of programmes and formats”.
Whilst at the helm of the department, a position he took up in November
2006, Beazley has overseen entertainment formats such as Strictly Come
Dancing, I’d Do Anything and So You Think You Can Dance.
Prior to this, he was controller of entertainment commissioning, and was
responsible for Strictly Come Dancing, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross and
The Apprentice.

New Quiz For BBC
Two
A new comedy-news quiz called The Bubble starts on BBC Two on
Friday, February 19.
Hosted by David Mitchell. the quiz plays on the fact that
some news stories are so hard to believe you would think they had been made
up. In this show some of them have.
Each week three celebrity contestants – a mixture of comedians, smart
celebrities and wild-card bookings – are locked away in a media-free zone,
"the bubble", for four days. No phones, no television, no internet access.
When they are brought out into the studio, they are shown a series of news
reports, headlines and images from TV, newspapers and celebrity gossip
magazines. All they have to do is identify the true stories from the fakes.
Guests confirmed to date include: Frank Skinner, Reginald D Hunter and
Victoria Coren for the first show; Germaine Greer, Ed Byrne and Jon
Richardson; Sue Perkins, Clive Anderson and Sarah Millican; Andy Hamilton,
Marcus Brigstocke and Julia Hartley Brewer for show four, with further
announcements to follow.
David Mitchell said: "It's a damning indictment of the state of the world
and our society that so many prominent and talented people are willing to
isolate themselves from it, if only for a few days. But it's good news for
The Bubble. My only worry is: 'What if they refuse to come out?'"

Mastermind -
Lowest Score
A Mastermind contestant said “it wasn't my night” after
recording the show's lowest-ever score.
Software analyst Kajen Thuraaisingham gained just five points — the lowest
figure in the history of the BBC programme which has been running for nearly
40 years.
Mr Thuraaisingham gained four points in his specialist subject which centred
around the life of founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. He
gained just one point in the general knowledge round.
He offered 13 wrong answers and gave 11 passes in total, scoring two points
fewer overall than the previous lowest score.
The 28-year-old Londoner said: “I tried my best but it wasn't my night.”
The show's host John Humphrys said Mr Thuraaisingham may have fallen victim
to “black chair syndrome”.
“It's the ‘black chair' syndrome. But no matter how hard you prepare for a
show, the mind can just go blank when you're in that big black chair and the
lights are on.”
