Boy George Drama

Mathew Horne, Marc Warren, Mark Gatiss and newcomer Douglas Booth are announced to star in Worried About The Boy, a BBC Two drama about a young Boy George and his journey to become a star on the Eighties fashion and pop music scene.

Written by Tony Basgallop and directed by Julian Jarrold, Worried About The Boy follows George's journey from cloakroom attendant to cultural icon – from falling in love for the first time, to embracing his unique style, to meeting his Culture Club bandmates.

As a teenager, George O'Dowd realised he was not like the other boys his own age – sharp-witted, independent-minded and with a passion for clothes and make-up, he dreamt of becoming a star.

Leaving the suburbs of Eltham for the smoke of the city he soon became a fixture at the infamous Blitz Club – the favourite haunt of those at the forefront of the New Romantic movement.

Set at the heart of the changing music scene and youth attitudes of the Eighties, Worried About The Boy reflects on an iconic and influential star and the cultural era he is synonymous with.

Douglas Booth plays Boy George, Mathew Horne plays Culture Club drummer Jon Moss, Marc Warren plays nightclub pioneer and Visage front-man Steve Strange, and Mark Gatiss plays music impresario Malcolm McLaren.

Worried About The Boy will show as part of the Eighties season on BBC Two, which includes dramas The Royal Wedding, written by Abi Morgan, and an adaptation of Martin Amis' Money, starring Nick Frost.

The season will broadcast in the spring.

Doctor Who Costumes and Props For Auction

A selection of props and costumes from the BBC's Doctor Who are to go under the hammer in London later this month.

Fans can bid for their own Cyberman, Dalek or Sea Devil at the auction, as well as costumes worn by the 10th Doctor himself, David Tennant.

Other highlights of the sale include Kylie Minogue's waitress costume she wore in a 2007 Christmas special, which is expected to fetch up to £3,000.

The auction will take place at Bonhams on February 24.

From the same Christmas special, Tennant's two-piece Paul Smith dinner suit is also up for grabs valued at around £3,000.

A jacket worn by Billie Piper's character Rose Tyler is expected to raise up to £700 while a pair of her pyjamas and dressing gown could fetch £250.

Two Imperial Daleks costumes from Sylvester McCoy's tenure as the Doctor in 1988 are also in the sale.

One, altered for exhibition purposes, is hoped to fetch £3,500, while the other could raise up to £7,000.

There is also a selection of vehicles in the auction - including Captain Jack's Torchwood Range Rover and a black cab from The Runaway Bride episode starring Catherine Tate, aired in 2006.

Facebook Group Calls For Kay Burley Sacking

A Facebook group has seen over 3,900 people call for Sky News presenter Kay Burley to be sacked for pushing Peter Andre to tears during an interview on Tuesday.

The anchor had probed Katie Price's ex-husband on how he felt about the glamour girl's wedding on Monday to Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid and the future custody of his children with Jordan.

Andre's agent Claire Powell later telephoned Burley to complain about the way she treated the singer.

Viewers have reportedly contacted Sky and Ofcom about the interview, the regulator said it will look at the complaints before they decide if they need to investigate the incident.
