Paul O'Grady Wanted On Strictly

Paul O'Grady has revealed that he has been asked to take part in Strictly Come Dancing.

But the chat show host has had to turn down the offers because he has other commitments.

"I do like Strictly," O'Grady, 54, told Now magazine.

"They ask me every year to go on, but it's eight hours of rehearsals a day and there's no way I could do it on top of work, writing my book and my farm in Kent.

"If I didn't have all that, I'd go on it."

O'Grady has also been asked to appear on ITV programme Piers Morgan's Life Stories

"Piers Morgan keeps trying to get me to go on his show,' he adds. 'But I've told him no way!"

Police were investigating today after a Scottish rugby fan exposed himself on a live BBC show.

The Scot, reported yesterday to be forward Keith Davies, dropped his kilt on Friday's evening news programme, BBC Wales Today, ahead of Scotland's clash with Wales yesterday afternoon.

Gail Morris Jones, the programme's editor, said: "BBC Wales Today is a live programme and unfortunately one rugby fan got carried away with the moment.

"We always strive to ensure that our contributors act appropriately and we know that many people will have been offended. We sincerely apologise for any offence caused."

"We are clearing up after a heavy night in South Wales, it was one of those rugby nights."

Terry Wogan Considered TV Return

Sir Terry Wogan has revealed he had received "various offers" when asked whether he would make a TV return after Jonathan Ross's exit.

The 71-year-old, who launched his new Sunday radio show this morning, also said he was not ready to express an opinion over Chris Evans' progress as his replacement on the Radio 2 breakfast show.

Sir Terry said he was keen to take it a a "bit more easily" when asked in an interview with Andrew Marr whether he would be willing to replace Ross, who recently said he will be leaving the BBC in July.

He told Marr's breakfast-time show: "I'm well stricken in years Andrew, it will happen to you as well. The thing is I have had various offers and I'm thinking about it but I'm 71 years of age, I'd like to take it a bit more easily.

He also said radio was no "quick fix" when asked how he thought Evans was progressing as his replacement on the Radio 2 early slot.

Sir Terry added: "People keep coming up to me and asking me what I think. I'd rather not give an opinion because radio is not like television. Television is a quick fix, radio takes an awful lot longer to establish yourself.

"So I say, if you ask me that question in about a year's time, I'll give you an honest answer and I'm sure it will be a favourable one."

His new show is "radically different" from his morning show, Sir Terry added.

Vernon Kay Apologises

Vernon Kay apologised on his radio show after sending explicit text messages to around five women.

The All Star Family Fortunes presenter, who has two young daughters with his wife Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, interrupted his weekly Radio 1 show to tell his two million listeners he had been "foolish and stupid".

Without referring directly to the texts, Kay said he had "disappointed and let down a lot of people", adding: "To my family and everybody else, I am very sorry."

Kay denied having sex with the women he had sent texts to but admitted he had flirted while using the computer phone service Skype.

In an interview with She magazine just weeks before reports of the raunchy messages emerged, Daly, 38, spoke about how much she trusts her husband.

She said she did not get jealous when the 35-year-old former model got attention from other females, because he told her "all girls ever want to talk about" was her.

The Bolton-born presenter married Daly, also a former model, in 2003 and their daughter Phoebe was born the following year.

Their second daughter, Amber, was born in May last year.
