Ofcom To Probe X Factor
Ofcom has launched an investigation into whether X Factor
judge Tulisa Contostavlos has breached broadcasting rules by promoting her
brand of perfume on the show.
The star, 23, unveiled her new fragrance, The Female Boss, last month at The
Perfume Shop in London.
Ofcom has received complaints that, by making her signature arm gesture when
she is introduced on stage with the other judges at the start of each show,
the singer is promoting her perfume on The X Factor.
As well as looking at the arm gesture, Ofcom is viewing a pre-recorded
segment on The Xtra Factor which was aired about the new scent.
The N-Dubz star spoke about The Female Boss perfume and discussed the
connection to her signature move in the spin-off programme at the end of
October.
The regulator is assessing the footage against rules on promoting and
referencing commercial products in programming.

Daybreak Replacements
Sky News presenter Eamonn Holmes and ITV newsreader Natasha
Kaplinsky are being tipped to take over hosting Daybreak, with Adrian Chiles
and Christine Bleakley widely reported to be leaving ITV1's breakfast show
in the new year.
There have been persistent rumours that the pair may be dropped from the
show, which struggled to mount a serious challenge to BBC Breakfast since
replacing GMTV in September 2010, although ITV has always denied that their
roles are under threat.
ITV did not confirm their departure on Monday, with a spokesman saying the
broadcaster did not "comment on speculation".

Alan Carr Wants To Write TV
Series
Alan Carr – who is best known for his TV show Chatty Man –
said he would love to script a "cracking" show, he is "too scared" to get
down to it.
He said: "I'd love to write a cracking drama like 'Six Feet Under' or 'The
West Wing' but I'm like one of those people who wants to be a painter but is
too scared because they don't think they're good enough."
Carr admitted he has enjoyed most of the guests who have sat on the sofa on
his TV chat show, in particular Grace Jones and Rihanna.
He added in an interview with Attitude magazine: "Who has been my favourite
guest? Rihanna. She was fun and didn't have a list as long as her arm of
things you can't talk about.
"Grace Jones was fabulous too, I asked her about the rumour that all she
survived on in the 80s was cocaine and oysters and she said, 'Yes darling.'
"My biggest nightmare are some of the younger Americans who've been media
trained to death. I'd rather have someone like Courtney Love. She came on a
little bit tipsy and told all her secrets and the audience really warmed to
her."
