Gabriel Byrne To Star In C4 Drama

Gabriel Byrne is to star Channel 4’s new four-part drama series Coup.

Byrne, best known for films such as The Usual Suspects, will play politician Tom Dawkins in the drama, which is based on the book A Very British Coup by Chris Mullin.

Coup has been written by Robert Jones. It will go into production next month for transmission later this year.

Britain's Got Talent - Amanda Holden

Amanda Holden has been forced to pull out of Britain's Got Talent auditions following signs she was going into labour.

The 40-year-old panellist - who is reported to be around eight months pregnant - was admitted to hospital in London after experiencing pain ahead of attending the ITV1 talent show's Blackpool auditions today.

Holden - who has a six-year-old daughter, Lexi, with husband Chris Hughes - is now "under observation" at the hospital, according to her spokesperson.

A 'BGT' representative also confirmed today's auditions would be going ahead with just three judges - Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell.

C4 Commissions New Sketch Show

Channel 4 has commissioned a full series of sketch show Anna and Katy's Television Programme following a pilot which aired last summer.

Anna & Katy's Television Programme is a 6-part character-driven sketch show for Channel 4 mixing the pair's comedy creations with celebrity cameos. .

Anna Crilly's previous credits include Lead Balloon and Sorry I've Got Know Head and Katy Wix's include Torchwood and Not Going Out.

Anna & Katy said "We are beyond chuffed to get a full series with Channel 4. We'll aim not to balls it up. Thank you."

Nerys Evans, Commissioning Editor Comedy Channel 4 said "We can't wait to work with Anna and Katy on their wonderful new series for Channel 4; they're so funny you'll think they're men."
