New Sarah Millican Series

The BBC has commissioned another series and a Christmas special of The Sarah Millican Television Programme.

Six more episodes of Millican’s TV-themed comedy show, plus the festive special, will be recorded at MediaCity in Salford later this year and broadcast over Christmas 2012 and January 2013.

Millican said, “I am thrilled everyone liked the show enough to invite us back! It was a joy to make the first series, with such a great team of people, and I can't wait to get cracking on the second."

The new series will feature more of her stand-up monologues about television and interviews with some of her TV idols.

Alan Tyler, BBC executive editor for entertainment commissioning, added: "Sarah is one of the best comic performers in the UK. Following the success of the first series we are delighted to be bringing her back to the BBC Two audience.”
