Eurovision Song Contest

Sweden has won this year's Eurovision Song Contest with Euphoria performed by 28-year-old singer Loreen.

She scored a total of 372 points to secure Sweden's fifth Eurovision Song Contest win overall.

The UK finished in 25th position out of 26 countries.

Singer Englebert Humperdinck received 12 points to secure the second-from-bottom place, which was five more than Norway (7). 

Ireland's entry, performed by Jedward, came 19th with 46 points.

Radio 3 Presenter Arrested In Zimbabwe

BBC Radio 3 presenter Petroc Trelawny has been arrested in Zimbabwe for not having a work permit.

Classical music presenter Trelawny was compering at a music festival in Bulawayo when he was detained, said the Zimbabwe Vigil pressure group.

Trelawny, who presents Music Matters, In Tune and Live in Concert, is now in custody in the Zimbabwean capital Harare.

He was arrested on Thursday.

Trelawny was not attending the event, organised by the Zimbabwe Academy of Music, in any BBC capacity.

A spokesman for the BBC said: "We are aware of the situation and hope it will be resolved as quickly as possible."

Rose Benton, co-ordinator of Zimbabwe Vigil, said: "He was apparently the only musician without a work permit and that is why they arrested him."
