New Dating Show For ITV2

ITV2 has commissioned a new series that follows the search for real love and the realities of dating.

Three will feature three single women of different ages, life experiences and backgrounds meet for the first time with a common goal— to find true love. As they search for a partner, they will share their lives and emotionally support one another during the dating and decision-making process.

The new series will start with an audition in which a hundred men from all over the country ‘pitch’ themselves to the three women. Each of the women will have to select six men who they would like to ‘date’ but the pressure is on as they will have only a few minutes to decide if they would like to get to know them further.

Emma Willis said, "'I am beyond thrilled to be a part of Three. I love to watch a good romance blossom, so to be asked to be a part of that process is genuinely exciting."

Stanhope has bought the site for guaranteed consideration of £200m.

The sale is part of long-term plans to reduce the size of the BBC’s property portfolio by 30 percent. The proceeds from the sale, together with the end of running costs for the site will contribute towards the BBC’s target of achieving annual savings in property expenditure of £47m pa by 2016/17.

Stanhope has acquired a long leasehold interest in BBC Television Centre. The BBC and Stanhope will work together on the initial planning and development, and the BBC will retain a continued presence at Television Centre.

The BBC public service divisions will be remaining on site until staff have been relocated and the technology infrastructure has been completed.

The BBC’s commercial arms BBC Studios and Post Production and BBC Worldwide will lease refurbished office and entertainment space in the completed scheme from 2014/15 and will be amongst the first parts to go-live at the re-purposed site.

Following temporary relocation, BBC Studios and Post Production will operate studios for television production, including the famous Studio 1.

BBC Worldwide will move from its current base in the W12 Media Village to become anchor tenants on the site, and will be located at the front of the building overlooking Wood Lane. BBC Worldwide is in the process of appointing its architects.

EastEnders Actor Quits Acting

EastEnders actor Sid Owen has revealed he will not be returning to the show, as he is quitting acting to focus on the restaurant business.

The 40-year-old, who has played Albert Square's mechanic Ricky Butcher on and off for almost 25 years, announced in January that he was taking a temporary break from the soap to spend time on his work as patron of the water charity Drop4Drop.

However he has now revealed he has no plans to return to EastEnders - or take up any other acting work - in the near future.

He told a newspaper: "I've retired and I'm now living permanently in France, where I have been on and off for the past ten years, and I'm running my restaurant.

"I haven't quite made my millions but I'm happy doing that and I'll never be back. I'm done with the UK and I hope you'll never see me on your TV screens again because I'm done and I've retired. I much prefer the lifestyle I have now."

Owen first joined the show in 1988 when he was still at school - and remains best known for his relationships with Sam Mitchell, played by Daniella Westbrook, and Bianca Jackson, played by Patsy Palmer.

He has also appeared in The Bill and Bad Girls, as well as finishing third in the 2005 series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

EastEnders Goes Live

The cast and crew of EastEnders have been preparing for tonight's Olympic Torch episode.

An eight-minute live insert will focus on Billy Mitchell, played by Perry Fenwick, as he carries the Olympic torch live through Walford, E20.

After weeks of planning, EastEnders will welcome the torch at its home in Elstree, Hertfordshire, where it will then be passed to Billy Mitchell who will continue its journey past some of the most famous landmarks, including The Queen Vic.

Not only will this episode feature the Olympic torch relay but also Billy's granddaughter Lola Pearce will give birth during this live part of the soap.

The BBC said all the stops were being pulled out for the live broadcast and to make sure the event reflected every other torch run throughout the UK.

There will be 31 regular cast members involved, many of which have lines, and 11 children who regularly feature.

There will be at least 450 supporting artists taking part, who will all be cheering Billy on during his big Olympic moment, plus nineteen cameras on Albert Square to capture every memorable historic moment.

Perry Fenwick said: "Summer arrives just in time for me to complete my 24th circuit of Albert Square and I'm sweltering. On the plus side, I'm starting to see abs, have buns of steel and the show is looking good too!"

Clive Arnold, Director, added: "As the only drama asked to be involved with the Olympic Torch Relay, it is a huge honour for EastEnders and for everyone involved - a truly once in a lifetime opportunity."
