X Factor Start Date

ITV has confirmed the new series of the X Factor will begin on Saturday August 18.

The talent show which aims to find the best solo singer or group in the UK returns for a ninth year.

Judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh will be joined by Nicole Scherzinger who replaces Kelly Rowland on the panel.

Unlike previous years, acts that have, or have had, a management deal can still take part in the show.

Dermot O'Leary will return as the show's presenter.

Girl group Little Mix won the 2011 edition of the programme.

Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver has admitted that it is hard to combine travelling the world to pursue food projects with being a father of four.

The TV chef and health food campaigner lives in London with wife Jools and their quartet of children Poppy, 10, nine-year-old Daisy, three-year-old Petal and 22-month-old Buddy.

He has made TV shows and opened restaurants in America, Australia, Canada, Dubai and Ireland and revealed he would love to do something in Mexico next.

Oliver said: "It's got a bit harder since I've had kids. I've got four kids now. I don't know where they all came from!

"Getting large amounts of time to submerge myself has changed somewhat but they're getting a bit older now, so they can either come with me... or we can just Skype!"

The 37-year-old chef recently teamed up with Canadian chef Derek Dammann to open a new Montreal restaurant, Maison Publique.

But Oliver revealed while he intends to visit, he hopes to take more of a back seat role with his latest project.

He said: "Derek is a beautiful boy, probably one of the most talented chefs I've worked with. He's a Canadian local boy and he's obsessed by local food and there'll be no issues.

"It will be Canadian through and through, local talent through and through, and literally all I'm doing is helping him with the backing, boring stuff, the business side, and lending him the money to do it in the first place.

"It's really his restaurant, we're doing it together but it's his baby, and hopefully that's going to be something I do more."
