ITV has announced that at least one contestant will win the £1 million prize pot in the upcoming season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. 

The 36th series of the iconic quiz show, which is set to begin later this month, will see not one but two contestants make it all the way to the final question. 

Top prize winners are extremely rare, with only six contestants in the show’s UK history having taken home the £1 million and only one winner since Jeremy Clarkson became host. 

ITV has also teased that the upcoming episodes will see one contestant dramatically lose £186,000 in a single moment, which marks one of the biggest losses in the show’s history. 

Details of the contestants are so far being kept under wraps.
